Greg Bryce

Greg plays a very wide range of covers spanning 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and 21st Century to present day songs. He also is often asked to perform his original songs especially in the Hunter region where he’s written and performed songs with original bands DV8, HOT YOGIs and JIGZAG. He has also written songs for The Screaming Jets that have been recorded by them on various albums including the Hits and Pieces “best of” album.

Greg has appeared at many festivals around Australia and the world including in Canada, Denmark, Finland, UK, New Caledonia and NZ. He has made audiences happy from Backpacker pub gigs in George St. Sydney and the Qld Sunshine Coast to weddings, birthday parties and various functions. No stage is too small or large. He has played on the stage of Sydney Entertainment Centre to 12,000 people and in various loungeroom concerts to 30 people. Nick Charles from RHYTHM MAGAZINE wrote about Greg in an article in 2008 : “ Greg Bryce is the great guitarist and singer songwriter from one of Australia’s most popular acoustic festival bands, Jigzag...wonderfully eclectic, virtuosic, energetic and thought provoking.....a role model for guitarists“

Greg specializes in reading his audience/demographic and playing accordingly. If the majority are dancing he will take the set in that direction or if they are singing along he will encourage the atmosphere and take requests as well as play the many popular songs that people know and love. If people are dining and want to hear gentle background music then he will oblige. Songs range all the way from the classics to more recent artists like Ed Shearen, Maroon 5, Avicii, LMFAO, Black-Eyed Peas, Snow Patrol and Mumford and Sons.

He utilises acoustic guitar and voice with a stompboard through a bass graphic which is very organic and danceable without having to use backing tracks. He also is deft with the Loop Station pedal which allows him to record chord patterns in real time and play guitar solos over the top.
